ABOUT THE COURSE

Break-Minimal.png

If you fear death– your own or someone else’s– you’re not alone. Your fears may be preventing you from being present in your life.

With our combined 20 years of work in death and dying, we created Mortal to help you excavate and face those fears. The goal here isn’t to fully banish your fear of death (no one has that power, alas). The goal is to make you aware of where your fears are coming from, and provide you with tools to bravely examine and reduce the fears when they do arise.

ABOUT

WHAT TO EXPECT

Break-Minimal.png

Every week, from the moment you sign up, you will receive access to a new lesson,

including videos, exercises, guided meditations, and a weekly bonus death meditation

based on that week’s contemplation.

Your commitment should be roughly one-hour a week for nine weeks.

LESSON One:

All of us will die

sooner or later

LESSON Two:

I create my own meaning.

LESSON Three:

I meet my true self on  my deathbed.

LESSON Four:

I could die at any time.

LESSON Five:

There are parts of my death I can control.

TESTIMONIALS

"I'm only 2/3rds through, but this course has been more than worth the investment several times over. I've walked through my fears around death and dying, even my hang-ups previously not conscious, and encouraged to live free of these. Our guides are warm, nurturing, and gentle but persistently confrontational. It's brilliant, I recommend this course to everyone." - Ayya S

I am not good with words and do not usually leave reviews for anything but I feel this course is changing my life. For one thing, it has given me the courage to date again after years of being afraid to get my heart broken again. And to show up authentically to those dates and make special connections. It see it changing the way I approach all my relationships, not just romantic. I wish all people in the world could have access to this information and support. Thank you Alua and Caitlin from the bottom of my heart. - Rita C

A Powerful and Inviting Way To Think about Dying. Mortal was well-produced, well-organized, and engaging. I enjoyed each week's exercises and explorations. Alua and Caitlyn are both excellent storytellers, facilitators, and teachers. I'd recommend this course to anyone who wants to think more deeply about dying. - Elizabeth W

"Life Skills for sure. I feel like there should be different iterations of this in school as we grow up and go through life.  This is useful as a life skill, and everyone should learn how to internalize and accept their mortality in a healthy way." - Krystal Y

A gentle and peaceful reminder that Death is just one more thing that we all have to go through and that we can go through it with grace and purpose.  Thank you to Alua and Caitlin for your guidance and support. - Rachel W

Amazing! Alua and Caitlin are incredible!!! Run don't walk to this course on examining death and dying! - Abigail B

I truly cannot say enough good things about this course. I am a different person for having taken it - it's inspired me to commit to a massive career change, forgive a loved one I haven't spoken to for years, and look death in the face and smile. I've taken out life insurance (complete with gifts and instructions for my beneficiaries), written my will, created a beautiful "death box" with all of my documents and letters to my nearest and dearest, and generally just - to put it incredibly simply - faced my fear of death. I am still on a path to completely changing my narrative and easing my fear, but I never would have found it without this course. Thank you Alua and Caitlin! - Sam M
